Well all going well until... I see in Windows Mail, "refreshing metadata" in the bottom right corner of the program. It seems to be taking tonnes of processor and not only making everything a lil slower., but its taking a while too!
any ideas?

Tools>Options>General Tab
Uncheck "Use Newsgroup Communities support features"

cheers, I had a feeling it was that lol (dunno why)
Also, I logged on to my desktop this morning and it was quick, took like 5 secs, so why its slow on my laptop I dunno. But it was last night, I havent turned tht on this morning yet lol.

Perhaps it just needed a good night's sleep after all the hard work.
Perhaps the indexing service is still crawling around the hard drive.
